Teams

HIGH & LOW ANGLE RESCUE / ALPINE TEAM
The Fremont Search and Rescue High and Low Angle Rescue team conducts intensive training throughout the year. This training involves Basic Knots and Anchors, Rappelling, Lowering & Raising System Training, Patient Assessment, Patient Packaging.

AVALANCHE TEAM
Intensive high county training helps the FSAR Avalanche team learn valuable techniques in search and rescue during an avalanche condition. The team is trained in using Personal Locating Beacons and Global Positioning Systems to help locate a buried victim.

SWIFT WATER TEAM
The Arkansas River presents many challenges throughout the year and the Swift Water Team is trained to deal with the river throughout the year. The Team is also skilled in searching in or along edges of lakes and ponds, and also in locating evidence.

GROUND POUNDERS
Whether it's a lost hiker, an Alzheimer patient who's wandered off in the city, or horseback riders who have been injured on the trail, the Fremont Search and Rescue Ground Pounding Team has extensive training with high-tech equipment to help locate victims. ATVs and horses are used when necessary.

MISSION COMMAND
A strong team of dedicated individuals make up FSAR's Mission Command. Collaborating with the local authorities, using up-to-date mapping equipment and software, and using all necessary and available resources, the Mission Command not only works to have a successful mission, but also helps to ensure their fellow team members in the field remain safe.
